CFO Association of Serbia held a regular monthly meeting on the amendments to the Law on Corporate Income Tax and the Law on Personal Income Tax in cooperation with the tax and audit partner, Deloitte. Panel lecturers were: Dejan Mraković, Tax Partner, Deloitte, Slobodanka Kolundžija, Tax Manager, Deloitte and Milica Stublinčević, Senior Tax Consultant at Deloitte Tax Department.
During the meeting, panelists shared with members important law changes. One of the most important changes also concerns recognition of advertising and propaganda costs, which will be recognized in full in the tax balance sheet starting from 2019.
Special attention has been devoted to the law changes that relate companies that invest R & D. In the future, investors will be able to reduce their tax liability by investing in startup companies, while companies that create intellectual property will be exempt from taxation up to 80% of revenues generated from licensing intellectual property registered in Serbia. Companies engaged in research and development of intellectual property in the territory of Serbia will be allowed double reduction of the tax base on the basis of research and development costs.
We thank our lecturers for the useful information they shared with members, as well as all participants on discussion.
